Microscopy
We were able purchase this high quality zoom stereo microscope in 2021 thanks to the generous donations of our supporters. This is a critical component to our taxonomic work, as many diagnostic features are extremely small and beyond the range of a good hand lens. The camera mount capacity allows for high resolution photos to accompany voucher specimens, which we can send to experts on a particular genus for accurate determination.
Dixie Llewellyn has been regularly volunteering her time to do microscopic photography for us, as pictured below.
